The Knights of Columbus Council # 7199 in Parkville, MO continues to live  the vision of our founder Father Michael J. McGivney by honoring his ideals of rendering financial aid to our members, their families, our Parish, and our community. Our Knights of Columbus council has been very active in supporting our members, St. Therese Catholic Church, many of the ministries at our Parish, and our youth for the last 30 years. Some of our council’s events we’ve had this year include being able to sponsor our 80 member youth group as a Venturing Scouting Unit, our First Friday’s Dance each month to provides a safe place for the youth of the Kansas City Northland to gather, we provided six scholarships to our high school and college youth, we held our annual Lenten Fish Fry, Easter Egg Hunt for our little ones, had a Highway Clean-Up during this last summer and fall months, participated in the Special Olympics, and ran our Cub Scouts Pine Wood Derby.
Our Knights have provided cooks on many occasions for parish events, and we have provided manpower for donuts and coffee and breakfasts after Mass, and helped the Altar & Rosary Society during their recent Bread Bake. Recently, our Knights have raised over $9K during the Tootsie Roll Drive this last October for the Mentally Handicapped and nearly $5K at our fundraiser working at the Kansas City Speedway. Here are some of the ways we've supported St. Therese and our community: St. Therese Family Fun Night Sponsor - $100 Over $ 2500.00 in Scholarships to both High School and College bound Youth at St. Therese. Knights of Columbus Annual Special Olympics Support of over a dozen Mentally Handicapped Services in North Kansas City through our Annual Tootsie Roll Drive Families with Young Children Triathlon sponsor to benefit school in Uganda $100 Ice Cream Social Cook & serve Assist Altar & Rosary Society - bread bakes & year end meeting New Parishioner cookout St. Therese Campaign postage sponsor Annual Free Easter Egg Hunt Lenten Fish Fries We serve donuts or breakfast after mass Prayer Vigil (10/31) Golf Tournament hole sponsor Donation for the 8th grade school retreat bus. $337.00 Manpower for our Annual Parish Auction Life Teen/Youth Group Funding for Food Donation for Auction Donation for retreat Sponsorship as a Scouting Venture Crew Catholic Charities: car seats ($100) First Friday's Dances Special Needs Valentine's Dance for the mentally handicapped & physically challenged in the Kansas City northland Men of Valor - sponsored refreshments Rosary Garden Sponsored 2 stones in our Rosary Garden(1 for KofC & 1 to recognize Fr.
